Yes there is………………
The simplest dairy-free, vegan icing or frosting recipe you can make only contains two ingredients: powdered sugar and water. It’s great on angel food cake, pastries, donuts, and cookies. It takes only five minutes to make.
You can add more or less water to get the consistency you need. You can also change the flavor by adding vanilla, almond, peppermint, or other extracts, though these aren’t necessary.
(Note: Because regular powdered sugar is not a vegan ingredient due to the processing methods used, strict vegans will need to either make their own powdered sugar or purchase a vegan powdered sugar such as Hain Organic Powdered Sugar)
Ingredients
4 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. water
1/2 t. vanilla, almond, or other extract (optional)
Directions
Blend with a spoon until smooth and creamy.

Lower fat chocolate frosting recipies:
2 C icing sugar
1/2 C cocoa
1/4 C water
Mix cocoa and sugar. Add water until desired consistency is reached.
Here’s another:
1 teaspoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder
1 1/4 cups Splenda sugar substitute
3 tablespoons nonfat milk
1/2 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
Directions
1) In a medium saucepan, heat the milk and butter until butter has melted.
2) Whisk in the dry milk, cornstarch, and Splenda.
3) Heat the mixture and stir constantly until thickens, (do NOT let it boil).
4) Remove from heat and let cool for 2 minutes.
5) Add vanilla extract and unsweetened cocoa and whisk vigorously until well combined.
6) Cool before frosting.
Hope these help!

Fat-free “frostings” taste gross, and reducing the amount of chocolate to make something “healthier” results in an abomination. Make the best stuff and eat less of it.

Hey Emily,
It really is hard to create a GOOD Frosting by substituting all ingredients. I do it if I’m just making something for me, but I ALWAYS make a PROPER Frosting if it’s for someone else.
You need to remind yourself of the GOOD, HEALTHY aspects of regular ingredients:
Dark Chocolate has antioxidants, Use Sugar in the Raw (you can use a Coffee Grinder to make it fine), Use Organically Produced Milk, Cream or Butter.
We need to remember that it’s usually the Process in which these products are Created and Distributed that make them Un-Healthy.
I agree with Angela Q. Use the BEST ingredients you can, eat less of it, and take an extra-long walk or bike ride to compensate.
And ENJOY! Food is MEANT to be Enjoyed, not Worried About!
Hope I was Helpful.
