Bodum Chocolatiere Glass Hot Chocolate Maker/Frother

This product was thought up by people in the Bodum marketing department trying to come up with a gift idea — who wouldn’t want a hot chocolate maker as a gift? The problem, is that making hot chocolate is very simple. All you need is a pot to heat the milk and whisk to stir in the chocolate powder or solids. This product is at best a serving piece. Do not buy.

It makes great chocolate drinks. I used it for several different drinks. Any think that you can mix can be made into a very nice and enjoyable drink. I removed one star, because it is a little hard to clean and I would have preferred a metal free container so I could microwave a warm drink.

Today the Bodium hot chocolate maker arrived from Amazon. Opened the box, read the directions, and within 5 minutes I was on my way to making quick hot chocolate.
I used Swiss Miss No-Sugar Hot Chocolate mix (purchased at Amazon by the way) and followed the directions. Within minutes we were treated to several cups of well mixed albeit not super frothy tasty hot chocolate.
What I did:
Measured the water out using the Swiss Miss box directions and poured it into the frother.
Heated the water in the microwave oven.
Added the mix, inserted the frothing attachment, and within minutes we were treated to cups of well mixed hot chocolate.
Clean-up is a breeze as the frother container and attachment are both dishwasher safe and easily washes in the sink. I know because I did wash the chocolatier in the sink before making hot chocolate the first time.
This winter we will try making hot chocolate using the recipe enclosed in the booklet. I look forward to many heart-warming days of winter drinking hot chocolate using this kitchen gadget.
Other pluses is the Bodium Chocolatiere can be used to mix other drinks such as lemonade (we’ll try that next) to iced tea mix.
Overall, this is a nifty gadget worth purchasing.

This is a nice, easy, and versatile product. It actually takes the mess out of making real hot chocolate. It is easy to clean. The pitcher fits in the microwave for warm-ups. And, best of all, you can use it to mix other drinks and concoctions. A good value.
UPDATE: After a few uses … a puddle on the counter. This pitcher is not what it is cracked up to be – or maybe it is. Despite the “nice and easy” title … not so much.
