Eat Chocolate and Lose Weight?

Eat chocolate and lose weight, yes I said it! In the same sentence even. Chocolate lovers are going to be delighted to hear that there is now a new product on the market that not only tastes heavenly but you just may lose a few pounds from eating it too!

It is no surprise that dark chocolate is healthy for you. Everybody is talking about it. It is all over the news and I am sure that you have seen the stories and read the articles that dark chocolate is indeed good for you. Dark chocolate has been found to lower blood pressure. In addition, the antioxidant content has been found to help in the fight against heart disease. But don’t go grabbing for that Hershey’s Bar or even a Godiva Bar just yet. The chocolate that you buy in the stores is laden with fats, fillers and waxes and even though the experts say to eat 70% cacao it is only best when eaten in moderation… right? Not anymore.

Now there is a chocolate that not only is healthy for you but you can eat 3 times a day guilt free. This chocolate is gluten free, vegetarian/vegan and diabetic friendly. It is called Xocai (Sho-sigh) and is pure, unadulterated cacao. You can’t get better than this!

Xocai is a division of MXI Corp. and is based in Reno, Nevada. They have brought to market an all-natural, pure form of cacao that maintains its nutritional value through the manufacturing process. Rather than heat the cacao, it is cold pressed. This allows the dark chocolate to maintain its healthful properties. This is a grave comparison to traditional chocolate that typically loses about 80% of the antioxidants during the manufacturing process.

Xocai’s products deliver extraordinary levels of antioxidants and other important phytonutrients without adding all the extra fats, fillers, refined sugar, milk or caffeine…all which are added in your typical “chocolates”.

The secret to the Xocai chocolate is in the company’s approach to making chocolate. They aren’t trying to make candy. Their objective is to create the most powerful, antioxidant-rich products available today and to make them in such a way that you actually look forward to being healthy! That’s what MXI is all about…delivering the best tasting and healthiest chocolate available anywhere for any price.

One piece of Xocai’s antioxidant rich chocolate is equivalent to 10-12 servings of fruits and vegetables in antioxidants. Wow! Not to mention that it is a natural appetite suppressant and an anti-inflammatory. Who knew chocolate could be so good for you?

With new scientific studies showing dark chocolate and raw cacao’s ability to help stabilize blood sugar, it only makes sense that the right kind of chocolate can help those looking to lose weight. And that’s only the beginning of what research is saying about the health benefits of chocolate.

Get To Know Your Chocolate Better With Fannie May Candies Discount Coupons

Chocolate is so popular among people of all ages that it is incorporated in nearly all of our favorite treats. We have chocolate ice cream, chocolate shake, and of course, who wouldn’t want to take a bite out of a luscious chocolate candy?

Having your share of excellent chocolate candies these days can be so costly you’d rather chew on something else, like a strip of wood. Luckily, you can start using Fannie May Candies discount coupons and get the finest chocolate munchies available without wreaking havoc to your budget.

While chocolate may be very popular the world over, the thing is most admirers of this gustatory wonder do not have an idea how chocolate is made. Believe it or not, chocolate starts out as a tart, almost bitter bean called cacao.

Conversely, If you want to start buying the best gifts for a fraction of the cost, start availing of gift and flower discount coupons and get access to a wide selection of premium gift items that are heavy on value yet super light on the budget!

Transforming cacao beans into chocolate is a tedious process. When cacao pods ripen, the beans are harvested and allowed to ferment for a few days to soften the beans’ natural bitter piquancy. The beans are then roasted in a controlled temperature to sharpen their taste, as well as to get rid of the hulls that conceal the nibs (section of the cacao bean which holds all the flavor).

After the nibs have been gathered, it is slowly cooked into a mixture called chocolate liquor. While a chocolate candy is heavenly to the taste buds, chocolate liquor is exactly the opposite. It is too greasy and coarse, it has a closer resemblance to murky sand rather than delectable chocolate.

Equally, never settle with chocolate products that will make your finances bog down. Begin using Fannie May Candies discount coupons and have the most excellent assortment of first-rate chocolate for less!

The chocolate liquor is compressed in a vise-like apparatus to separate the cocoa solids from the cocoa butter, to create what is known as a press cake. In this phase, the press cake can be made into cocoa powder, or processed into eating chocolate, depending on what preparation method the chocolate makers will employ.

Cocoa powder is made by completely removing all liquid content from the press cake before totally drying it out. The desiccated press cake is then crushed gradually until it achieves a fine, chalky consistency.

There is an entirely different procedure to make eating chocolate. The prepared press cake is incorporated into a mixture of cocoa butter, sugar and other ingredients, and is heated steadily to eliminate any hints of grittiness. Milk can also be blended in to create milk chocolate.

While most people think otherwise, white chocolate has no chocolate content at all. It is made by combining cocoa butter with milk and vanilla.

Apart from being one of the most popular treats all over the world, chocolate goes through a lot of procedures to become the scrumptious delicacy that we know and love. From the harvesting of cocoa beans to the creation of press cakes, chocolate is truly a product of patience and fortitude.

Even so, start availing of promo codes to get access to the finest labels you have been waiting for so long to get your hands on since they are so pricey!

Health Benefits of Chocolate

Although healers in ancient Latin American societies used chocolate extensively in medicinal practice, modern societies took a dim view of chocolate as having benefits. Chocolate has been reputed to cause acne, cavities, and a host of other health problems. Recent scientific evidence however, has been debunking what they call “chocolate myths.” And, to the chocoholics delight, concluding that not only is chocolate not detrimental to your health, it can actually be beneficial.

Let us look at the acne myth. There have been two scientific studies devoted to this subject, one at the University of Pennsylvania and one at the US Naval Academy. Both studies concluded that ingesting chocolate had no effect on acne. There have also been other studies which have found that there is no relationship between diet and acne.

Studies have also been done on the effect of chocolate on tooth decay. While chocolate does contain sugar, the Eastman Dental Center found that chocolate contains certain phosphates and other minerals which minimize the effect of the sugar. Therefore chocolate is one of the least likely desserts to cause cavities. Another study at Osaka University in Japan stated that there are antibacterial agents in cacoa that actually counteract tooth decay.

Then what are the health benefits that can be derived from chocolate? Chocolate contains flavonoids, powerful antioxidants, stearic acid, phenylethylamine, theobromine plus many essential minerals such as magnesium and iron.

Flavanoids or phenolic phytochemicals are compounds present in plant foods which have been recognized as having health benefits. In humans they have been found to fight against cancer and heart disease. They exist in a wide variety of foods and beverages such as apples, peanuts, onions, cranberries, red wine, and tea. Two important

In a study conducted at Cornell University, Dr. Chang Y Lee, team leader, compared the presence of the phenolic compound gallic acid and the flavonoid epicatechine in chocolate with red wine and green tea. Chocalate had 611 mg of gallic acid (GAE) as compared to 340 in red wine and 165 in green tea. Chocolate contained 564 mg of epicatechin (ECE) whereas red wine had 163 and green tea only 47.

Antioxidants are important for their ability to destroy free radicals. The effectiveness of antioxidants is measured in ORAC units. Dark chocolate contains over 13000 ORAC units. If the body does not have sufficient levels of antioxidants damages takes place which leads to an increase in plaque formation on arterial walls and an increase in LDL choresterol.

Another nutrient which is the subject of many myths is fat. Nutritionists continually recommend avoiding saturated fats and opting for monosaturated fats as saturated fats raise cholesterol levels.

The fat content of chocolate is one-third oleic acid, one-third stearic acid and one-third palmitic acid. Oleic acid is a mono-saturated fat like olive oil. According to research studies, stearic acid has not effect on cholesterol. Palmitic acid is a saturated fat and does affect cholesterol levels. However, according to Dr. Phillip Drew Minton who has written a book about the health benefits of chocolate, some saturated fat is necessary in diet as saturated fats provide protection against skin cancer and unsaturated fats do not do this.

So, although one can eat chocolate now without guilt, you must eat it properly to derive the maximum health benefits. Dark chocolate is more beneficial than milk chocolate. The chocolate should be high quality to have a high cacao content. It should also be pure chocolate not combined with marshmallow, caramel, nougat and other unhealthy substances. And like all foods, moderation is the key. Don’t gorge the entire box but restrict yourself to no more than 3.5 ounces per day. (610 words)

The Truth about Sensy Chocolate!

The Company and The Founder

Sensy Chocolate was founded by Dr. Anas A Khalaf most commonly known as Dr. K. just a few months ago, at the time of writing this review the company was still in its beginning stage and there were just about three to four hundred distributors on the books. The formal launch of the company is scheduled for the fall of 2010.

Dr. K is a 30 year veteran of the alternative health industry and top chiropractor he also has extensive experience in the mlm industry and has reached the top levels of several very famous network marketing companies. His success in the mlm business allowed him to retire from 6 clinics, 60 employees and 5 other corporation to focus on his passion in life.

I was fortunate to meet with Dr. K during his recent visit to California and get to know first hand about his mission and goals with Sensy Chocolate. I was impressed with his passion and dedication to the company mission and the people that are active in the network marketing efforts of the company. One of Dr. K’s missions is to sponsor schools arround the world and he mentioned that a percentage of the company’s profits are being donated to that purpose.

The Chocolate

Dr. K states that the Sensy Chocolate has very good health benefits and can help with wight control by reducing your appetite when eating the chocolate. Sensy Chocolate’s internet site has a great deal of information about this and it appears to be very well detailed. One thing that interested me was the anti oxidant numbers, the the natural ingredients and the fact that it is sugarless and considering all that tastes pretty good. Yes I did tast it

There is one simple prodcut and most people will be able to understand its properties without difficult which is an advantage because you can replicate your efforts in a simple matter which is crucial for success in a NM company.

Getting Recruites and Sales

Each distributor gets a personilized website with their information which gives them the ability them to market the Chocolate online as well as recruited new distributors. The site provided is a simple one which is sufficient and has the information one would expect about the chocolate and the business opportunity. The company employes cookies to track visitors and give credit to the appropriate distributor. I tested it in several ways and discoverd it to be working ok although could use some improvements.

One thing I did not like is that you are able get the chocolate directly on the corporate website instead of sending the prospect back to the independent distributor that referred you. At the time of writing this article the Dr. K. stated his tech team will repair this and remove the purchase option from the main company website. As for recruiting new distributors that is not allowed on the corporate website and it does send you back to the person who told you to Sensy Chocolate.

It would appear as if the company is putting its efforts on offline marketing namely friend, family and home meetings. If you have been involved in network marketing before and did not like pestering your friends and familythere are other options for you. Visit my blog for some great information and training about how to market your network marketing business online.

The Compensation Plan

There is a good explanation of the money plan on the main website with a document that details the compensation plan so I will not detail it here.

To sign up as a distributor for Sensy Chocolate you have to pay an initial investment that can range anywhere from $300 to $5000 a few options are available and signup for a monthly auto ship that is either $40, $60 or $80 per month.

You will get paid a small fee for recruiting new reps which can be up to 10% from the intial investment up to 3 levels deep. This will probably not come to much unless you are a recruiting machine but will probably cover the cost of your auto ship for several months.

You can earn residual commission on Chocolate orders of people in your organization up to 8 levels deep but it seems to be tied with increasing your orders and specific team production requirements. There is a mention that you need to have a minimum of 5 auto ship customers to get commissions. This point could use some clarification in the company compensation plan.

Final Thoughts

One good thing the company has going for it is the simplicity of its product which can be perceived by most prospects and this will allow the business plan to easily duplicate and grow. This is also a concern because the large retailers can copy it and in most cases for a much much cheaper. This is obviously a problem for a single product company although the chance of the major retailers entering into the market at this phase of the game is very small so there is a very good opportunity so early in the game.

Pre launch companies offer great opportunities but the big question is will it survive the first years of growth and turn into a player that will stand the test of times. Many new NM companies go out of business in the first few years but if you get involved early enough in a company that does survive and goes on to great things in the pre launch stage you can have great success in the future.

Can You Eat Chocolate On A Diet?

A co-worker of mine once said, “Every person should have a little bit of chocolate every day. It’s how I maintain my weight.” She said this after a group of coworkers that included myself had just finished eating lunch at a Chinese restaurant (an all you can eat buffet) and were staring at her as she was putting quarters into the candy machine for a chocolate treat. She didn’t get a lot of chocolate, just a handful of M&M’s. But the rest of us were staring at her, wondering how she could afford the calories after the huge lunch we had all indulged in.

Why were we staring at her? She was slim, trim, and looking great. The rest of us were either on a diet or thinking about going on a diet because we all had excess pounds to lose. Yet, the only person who would indulge in a little chocolate was the skinny person in our group.

I told her she had to explain to us how chocolate helped her maintain her weight because I knew that chocolate bars were a definite contributor to the extra flab I had around my stomach.

She said her mother had taught her that having a small treat every day would help her maintain a healthy weight and never feel deprived. She had been following her mother’s advice and had never had a weight problem. She said she had a little chocolate every day, but only a little – never more than a handful or M&M’s or half a candy bar. Unlike me, she didn’t try to stay away from it as long as possible and then binge on it when the cravings for it got to be too much.

Many weight loss experts are agreeing with this philosophy – that having a little room in a diet for a treat makes it much easier to eat healthy the rest of the time.

If that alone isn’t enough reason to make you feel it’s okay to have a little bit of chocolate every day (yes, I’m assuming you like chocolate because I’m a chocoholic and can’t imagine that anyone wouldn’t like to have some chocolate every day), scientific research is showing that dark chocolate has some health benefits.

Dark chocolate has been found to contain flavonoids very similar to those that are in green tea. A few of the health benefits those flavonoid antioxidants can have are: improving digestion, stimulating the kidneys, and improving circulation.

So, indulging in a little dark chocolate every day can not only have health benefits, but could actually help a person stick to their diet the rest of the day because they know they can have a little treat that will satisfy them but not sabotage their efforts to lose weight.

The key is to only have a small amount. Indulging in several candy bars a day is definitely overindulging. My mother-in-law, another person who has never been overweight, buys small snack sized packages of her favorite candy bars and has 2 every day. She says 2 are just enough to satisfy her and keep her happy without her having to worry about weight gain. I think she’s on to something. She’s in her mid-sixties and she doesn’t need to worry about dieting or losing weight. She looks great.

So, yes, I think you can eat chocolate on a diet. Eat a little, and really enjoy it!
